La ruta del Light Front de Gone West es una senda de senderismo que sigue la línea del frente de la Primera Guerra Mundial en octubre de 1914. Va desde la frontera de Bélgica/Francia hasta Nieuwpoort. El 17 de octubre de 2014, GoneWest organizó un gran evento participativo llamado Light Front. Se seleccionaron 8,4000 participantes.
La expresión inglesa ‘to go west’ se refiere a morir, pero a través de la Gran Guerra, la expresión adquirió un significado más explícito. Las fuerzas aliadas, que ocupaban el Frente Occidental, literalmente llevaron a sus muertos y heridos hacia el oeste. Además, la guerra también se movió de este a oeste a lo largo de Bélgica como resultado de la invasión alemana en 1914.
