La Biblioteca Marien en Halle sobre el Saale es una biblioteca eclesiástica científica evangélica en Halle. Es la biblioteca pública más antigua y grande de su tipo en Alemania.
La Biblioteca Marien fue fundada en 1552 por Sebastian Boetius, el pastor principal de la iglesia de Santa María, hoy la iglesia de mercado de Nuestra Señora. Boetius compró algunos libros con el dinero de una donación en la feria de Leipzig. A través de donaciones y compras, el número de libros creció rápidamente. La Biblioteca Marien fue hasta la fundación de la Biblioteca Universitaria de Halle en 1696 la única colección pública de libros de la ciudad, que hasta entonces también debía ser utilizada por los estudiantes y profesores de la recién fundada universidad. Incluso después, la lentamente creciente Biblioteca Universitaria no pudo satisfacer la demanda literaria. Apoyados por un privilegio de uso otorgado por el elector en 1697, los profesores continuaron prefiriendo la más extensa Biblioteca Marien.
