El Gymnasium Ludwig-Leichhardt es una escuela secundaria en la ciudad independiente de Cottbus. El gymnasium ofrece clases de idioma japonés y programas de intercambio estudiantil con escuelas en Japón, Canadá y Australia.
Por decisión del consejo de la ciudad de Cottbus, el edificio fue construido en la década de 1970 durante la época de la RDA. En 1975, en el ala este del edificio, se inauguró la escuela secundaria Salvador Allende como la 22. escuela secundaria, y en el oeste, la escuela secundaria Pablo Neruda como la 23. escuela secundaria politécnica de la ciudad de Cottbus. Ambas instituciones formaron juntas la escuela secundaria politécnica de Cottbus. En 1991, ambas escuelas fueron transformadas en el cuarto gymnasium de Cottbus. Se evitó un cierre en 2006.
