La mina Eleonore, al pie del Dünsberg en el Biebertal, fue una de las minas más importantes de allí. Se extrajo mineral de hierro marrón con contenido de manganeso.
El 2 de mayo de 1856, el campo de la mina Eleonore en el área VI de la localidad de Fellingshausen fue concedido al comerciante de hierro de Fráncfort J.M. Bastert, formado en Giessen. El nombre probablemente se deba a la hija mayor de Bastert, Eleonore Elisabethe.
