La ascensión del Katzenknipp es una joya hermosa en la Nordeifel. La subida desde Schevenhütte comienza por la tranquila carretera Landesstraße 25 (que también es la más empinada) y unos kilómetros más adelante se desvía un camino bien asfaltado a través de los bosques que está prohibido para el tráfico de automóviles. Así puedes ascender en total tranquilidad hasta el pueblo de Großhau, con a veces un panorama impresionante del entorno.
