El Museo Municipal de Eisenhüttenstadt fue fundado en 1980 y actualmente abarca tres lugares que presentan la historia de la ciudad de Eisenhüttenstadt, una galería de arte con obras de la RDA y un museo de bomberos y tecnología.
La inauguración del Museo Municipal de Eisenhüttenstadt tuvo lugar el 6 de diciembre de 1980. El museo se ubicó en un edificio de estilo art nouveau con motivos navales en la Löwenstraße 4 en el distrito de Fürstenberg. El edificio de dos plantas fue construido en 1906 como vivienda por encargo del director de la asociación de barcos, Carl Reiche, y fue reconstruido en 1977. Está protegido como monumento.
