En la comunidad administrativa de Wörlitzer Winkel del distrito de Wittenberg, diez municipios – entre ellos las ciudades de Oranienbaum y Wörlitz – se unieron para llevar a cabo sus asuntos administrativos. El 1 de enero de 2011, la comunidad administrativa fue disuelta y se fundó la nueva ciudad de Oranienbaum-Wörlitz por ley a partir de los municipios miembros.
La comunidad administrativa existió desde el 1 de noviembre de 1994, originalmente formada por los cinco municipios miembros Gohrau, Rehsen, Riesigk, Vockerode y la ciudad de Wörlitz. Tras la disolución de la comunidad administrativa de Oranienbaum el 1 de enero de 2005, los cinco municipios de esta VG fueron incorporados a la VG Wörlitzer Winkel. La nueva sede de la VG Wörlitzer Winkel se convirtió en Oranienbaum.
