San Cristóbal de La Laguna, conocida popularmente como La Laguna, es una ciudad y municipio perteneciente a la provincia de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, en la isla de Tenerife —Canarias, España—.
Su capital administrativa se ubica en la ciudad de San Cristóbal de La Laguna, situada a 545 m sobre el nivel del mar. Con 157 503[2] habitantes, La Laguna es la segunda ciudad más poblada de Tenerife y la tercera del archipiélago canario. Se encuentra en el noreste de la isla de Tenerife, junto a la ciudad de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, con la que se halla física y urbanísticamente unida, estando consideradas ciudades gemelas. La ciudad forma parte del Área metropolitana de Santa Cruz de Tenerife junto con El Rosario, Tegueste, Tacoronte, El Sauzal y la propia Santa Cruz. Dicha área metropolitana tiene una población de más de 400 000 habitantes.[3][4][5][6]
