La Iglesia Catedral-Basílica Metropolitana de la Asunción de Nuestra Señora de Valencia, llamada popularmente la Seu en valenciano, es sede del arzobispado de Valencia y está dedicada por deseo de Jaime I —siguiendo la tradición del siglo XIII— a la Asunción de María. Fue consagrada el año 1238 por el primer obispo de Valencia posterior a la Reconquista, Fray Andrés de Albalat.
