Monistrol[1] es un municipio de la comarca catalana del Bages, en la provincia de Barcelona, España. Se encuentra situado bajo la montaña de Montserrat y formando parte de la montaña. El río Llobregat atraviesa el municipio y lo divide en dos, ubicándose el poblado original a la orilla derecha y los nuevos desarrollos urbanísticos recientes al margen izquierdo. Viniendo del sur, Monistrol es el primer pueblo de la comarca del Bages, a 15 km de la capital de comarca, Manresa. Limita al norte con Castellbell y Vilar, al este con Vacarisas, al oeste con Marganell y al sur con Esparraguera y Collbató.
