El río Guadalquivir [1], antiguamente llamado río Betis, es un río de España, cuyo cauce discurre por Andalucía.Desde la antigüedad se ha situado su nacimiento en la sierra de Cazorla. Su cuenca hidrográfica abarca territorios de las provincias de Almería, Jaén, Córdoba, Sevilla, Huelva, Cádiz, Málaga, Granada, Murcia,[2] Albacete,[3] Ciudad Real y Badajoz. Desemboca en el océano Atlántico en un amplio estuario entre Almonte y Sanlúcar de Barrameda . Entre Sevilla y el estuario se sitúa una amplia zona húmeda, las marismas del Guadalquivir; parte de estas marismas están dentro del parque nacional de Doñana.
