La autovía del Noroeste o A-6[1] es una de las seis autovías radiales de España. Comunica la Comunidad de Madrid y el centro de España con Galicia, en concreto con La Coruña. Se trata de una de las vías más importantes del país, ya que, además de atravesar Castilla y León, hace un recorrido muy útil si se pretende ir tanto a Asturias como al norte de Portugal. En el tramo Collado Villalba - Adanero se convierte en la autopista de peaje autopista del Noroeste , cuya alternativa gratuita es la carretera de La Coruña .
