Bosques atlánticos.
La decimoctava etapa crestea por el límite entre Gipuzkoa y Navarra, entre magníficos bosques de hayas y robles, bordeando el Parque Natural de Aralar. Tras cruzar el puerto de Etzegarate, se adentra en el Parque Natural de Aizkorri-Aratz y en la Parzonería de Guipuzkoa y Araba. Finaliza la etapa en la casa de los Mikeletes, al pie del túnel de San Adrián, paso natural por la sierra de los picos Aizkorri y Aratz, por donde cruzaba la ruta comercial romana que conectaba las plazas de Astorga y Burdeos; aún se conservan restos de la calzada romana y de los asentamientos.
