Parte con dirección sureste, dejando atrás Cáceres tras atravesar Aldea Moret. Tras cruzar la vía del ferrocarril Cáceres-Valencia de Alcántara continúa rumbo este siguiendo la Cañada Real de Casar. Más tarde, atraviesa la carretera N-630 y prosigue paralelo a ésta, cruzándola en ocasiones hassta que llega a Valdesalor, donde coincide momentáneamente con la Vía de la Plata, pasando de hecho junto al albergue de peregrinos. Tras cruzar el río Salor por el Puente Viejo de la Mocha, cambia de dirección hacia el suroeste, siguiendo la Cañada Real del Puerto del Pico y Miravete. Más adelante, el camino vira rumbo oeste, cruza la vía del ferrocarril Cáceres-Mérida y prosigue hasta alcanzar la carretera EX-100. En este punto, las dos rutas que componen el camino se encuentran.
