Guînes es una comuna y población de Francia, en la región de Norte-Paso de Calais, departamento de Paso de Calais, en el distrito de Calais. Es el chef-lieu y mayor población del cantón de su nombre.Ocupada por los ingleses el 22 de enero de 1352, durante la guerra de los Cien Años. La Paz de Picquigny de 1475 confirmó su posesión, hasta que el 22 de enero de 1558 la villa fue tomada por las tropas francesas comandadas por Francisco de Guisa. Fue ocupada por las tropas españolas entre 1596-1598.[3]
