Le Creusot es una comuna y población de Francia, en la región de Borgoña, departamento de Saona y Loira, en el distrito de Autun. Forma la totalidad del cantón de Le Creusot Oeste y parte de Le Creusot Este. Está integrada en la Communauté urbaine Le Creusot-Montceau-les-Mines . La ciudad se hizo famosa debido a la familia Schneider, que producía acero para las empresas más importantes del mundo. Pero a partir de la mitad del siglo veinte la población de la ciudad ha decrecido y las antiguas fábricas de acero se han cerrado en su mayoría, aunque hay todavía algunas empresas que producen hierro y productos industriales, como partes de locomotoras: por ejemplo Schneider Electric o Alstom.
