La Galería Cívica de Arte Moderno y Contemporáneo "Giuseppe Sciortino", ubicada en el antiguo monasterio benedictino de la Piazza Guglielmo II en Monreale, alberga más de doscientas obras de artistas del siglo XX italiano.
Las obras expuestas son el resultado de donaciones (que se produjeron en tres ocasiones distintas, en 1986, 1997 y 2002) de Eleonora Nora Posabella, propietaria de la galería "Al Vantaggio" de Roma , para rendir homenaje a la memoria de su vida . socio , hombre de cultura y ciudadano de Monreale.
Entre las exquisitas obras expuestas se encuentran obras maestras creadas por destacados maestros de la escena nacional como Domenico Purificato, Renato Guttuso, Carlo Levi, Giorgio De Chirico, Filippo De Pisis, Fausto Pirandello, Mario Sironi, Giorgio Morandi y Luigi Bartolini.
