Gasselte es una aldea en el municipio de Aa en Hunze en la provincia neerlandesa de Drenthe, situada a mitad de camino entre las aldeas de Gieten y Borger, ubicada en el Hondsrug. La aldea tiene 1.900 habitantes. Hasta la reorganización municipal el 1 de enero de 1998, la aldea fue la localidad principal del municipio homónimo.
Aunque se han encontrado vestigios de asentamientos alrededor de Gasselte desde la prehistoria, la Edad del Bronce y la Edad del Hierro, el primer asentamiento hallado en esta región data del período del siglo IX al XII. Hallazgos de cadenas de cuentas, fragmentos de una fibula de anillo y una pulsera, encontrados en 1877 al excavar tierras del reverendo Sanders en Gasselte, apuntan a un asentamiento en los siglos VI y VII.
