Vierhouten es una aldea en el municipio de Nunspeet, en la provincia neerlandesa de Gelderland. Está situada en la Veluwe, entre Elspeet, Nunspeet y Vaassen. Vierhouten tiene 700 habitantes. Anteriormente, Vierhouten se llamaba Vierholten. El nombre podría referirse a los cuatro bosques que rodean la aldea. Estos serían el Vierhouterbos, el Vreebos, el Elspeterbos y el Gortelsebos. Aunque se duda de la exactitud de la teoría, esta sigue siendo la más utilizada. Otra teoría es que el nombre proviene de la familia Nunspeet Vierholt. Sin embargo, es más probable que esta familia se haya nombrado en honor al lugar y no al revés.
