Una colina en un área pantanosa era un lugar seguro para habitar en la Edad Media. Aquí se trata de la fundación de un pequeño monasterio alrededor del año 1000. Ese monasterio no existió mucho tiempo, pero a lo largo de los siglos ha sido un refugio para las aguas crecientes. Desde 1637, Heiligenberg es una villa de campo que ha cambiado de propietario muchas veces. No queda nada de la casa original del siglo XVII. Fue demolida a principios del siglo XIX. La casa como se ve ahora data de 1815. Actualmente alberga un instituto educativo. La casa y el parque no son accesibles.
