La isla de la Libertad , antiguamente llamada Isla de Bedloe , es una pequeña isla deshabitada en la bahía de Nueva York en Estados Unidos, más conocida por encontrarse en ella la Estatua de la Libertad. El nombre de "Isla de la Libertad" ha estado en uso desde principios del siglo XX, aunque el nombre no fue oficialmente cambiado hasta 1956. Antes de la Estatua de la Libertad, la Isla de Bedloe era el hogar de Fort Wood, una fortificación defensiva, construida en granito, tenía la forma de una estrella de once puntas. Debido a esto, su apodo fue "Star Fort" .
La isla es propiedad de Manhattan y lo mantiene el National Park Service. Sólo es accesible para el público por ferry, saliendo desde Battery Park City en Manhattan o desde Liberty State Park en la ciudad de Jersey, Nueva Jersey. Está separada de la isla de Ellis por aproximadamente 1 milla .
