La menroute Scheldemeersen commence au Bistro-Taverne De Klokke à Zulzeke (Kluisbergen). Il nous emmène le long des lacs plats de l’Escaut supérieur avec ses nombreux méandres anciens et riches en poissons. En chemin, le Koppenberg, connu par le monument cycliste 'Tour des Flandres', est un phare constant dans le paysage. Vers la fin, nous avons un avant-goût des vraies Ardennes flamandes avec une montée pas trop raide jusqu’à Kapel Ter Boeker, le point culminant de cet itinéraire. Sur le chemin, nous visitons les villages de Zulzeke et Melden. Audenarde et Berchem (Kluisbergen) ne sont pas loin.
