L’église Saint-Jean-l'Évangéliste a été fondée vers 980 par l'évêque Notger qui s'y fit inhumer mais elle fut reconstruite entre 1750 et 1765 suivant le plan octogonal initial. Classée patrimoine exceptionnel de Wallonie, elle abrite 3 chefs d’œuvre médiévaux. La «Sedes Sapientiae » (Siège de la Sagesse) est une statue de la Vierge à l’Enfant finement sculptée en chêne datant de 1230 et recouverte d’une polychromie originale. Admirable drapé du vêtement. A voir dans la 3e chapelle à gauche.
La Vierge et le saint Jean au Calvaire, visibles dans la chapelle à gauche du chœur et datant de 1250, sont deux statues exceptionnelles représentant avec réalisme et grande maîtrise la douleur contenue des témoins de la crucifixion. L’église a conservé aussi un mobilier baroque de très belle qualité.
