Le stade Edgard De Smedt fut un stade de football dont le club résident était le Cercle Sportif Brugeois . Il fut inauguré en 1922 et resta l'antre des Verts et Noirs du "Cercle" jusqu'en 1974.
C'est en 1950 qu'il est rebaptisé Edgard De Smedtstadion en hommage à une figure emblématique du matricule 12.
