La Funne est un affluent de la Stever long d'environ 22 km, situé au sud-est et à gauche. Son bassin versant couvre plus de 55 km².
La Funne prend sa source au nord du quartier de Cappenberg à Selm, à une altitude de 98 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer. Elle se dirige d'abord sur environ trois kilomètres vers l'est, avant de continuer vers le nord-est jusqu'à la limite de la ville de Werne. Là, elle fait demi-tour et se dirige ensuite vers l'ouest. Passant par Südkirchen et Selm, elle se jette dans la Stever après 21,88 km. C'est le plus long fleuve du nord du district d'Unna.
