Le lac de Großstolpen est un plan d'eau situé sur le territoire de la ville saxonne de Groitzsch dans le district de Leipzig.
Le trou de mine inondé se trouve au sud-est de Großstolpen, un quartier de Groitzsch. La B 176 Bad Langensalza–Hartha passe non loin au nord. À l'est se trouve la mine Vereinigtes Schleenhain. À l'angle nord-ouest du lac se situe la réserve naturelle du lac paysager de Großstolpen. Dans la zone nord-ouest de ce lac d'environ 31 ha, avec une profondeur allant jusqu'à 5 mètres, se trouve une île aux oiseaux.
