L'église Sainte-Élisabeth est l'église catholique romaine de Tangerhütte, une petite ville au sud du district de Stendal dans le Land de Saxe-Anhalt. L'église, nommée d'après sainte Élisabeth de Hongrie, fait partie de la paroisse Sainte-Anne à Stendal, dans le doyenné de Stendal du diocèse de Magdebourg.
Avec l'introduction de la Réforme, la région est devenue protestante. Avec la construction de l'usine de fer de Tangerhütte, entre 1842 et 1845, près de la rivière Tanger et du village de Vaethen, un grand nombre de travailleurs ont afflué dans cette localité, qui était jusqu'alors majoritairement agricole, la transformant ainsi en site industriel. En 1928, la localité a pris son nom actuel de Tangerhütte et en 1935, elle a obtenu le statut de ville.
