Tecklenburg est une ville située sur une crête dans les contreforts ouest de la forêt de Teutoburg (également appelée Tecklenburger Land). Elle a obtenu les droits de ville en 1388. Elle possède un centre médiéval qui vaut le détour avec de nombreuses maisons à colombages. À côté se trouve les ruines d’un château avec un théâtre en plein air. Juste à l’extérieur du centre se trouve la Bismarckturm d’où vous avez une belle vue sur les environs.
