L’ancien château de Diesenbach était situé dans l’ancienne commune de Diesenbach, l’actuel quartier de Ratisbonne, et était situé directement sur les rives de la Regen. Les vestiges souterrains du château sont considérés comme des monuments au sol classés de Ratisbonne.
Le 30 janvier 1458, les Wittelsbach et l’Amt de Regenstauf ont donné en gage le village de Diesenbach à Hansen Krottauer, à sa ménagère M. Vierdung et à leurs héritiers. Le 3 février 1473, le duc Albrecht IV de Bavière remit cette charge à Hartung von Egloffstein en tant que gardien. Entre 1473 et 1477, Regenstauf et Diesenbach sont prêtés en gage au marquart Stör et à partir du 25 janvier 1468 à Hans Walrab von Traidendorf.
