Erigée à la charnière des XII et XIIIe siècles, cette église présente une grande homogénéité. Au XIVe, des éléments de fortification ont été ajoutés aux murs du transept et au clocher. La rose à rayons est du même type que celles de la cathédrale et de l'église de Vaux (à Laon).
Cet édifice abrite des fragments lapidaires provenant de sépultures mérovingiennes datant des VI et VIIe, découvertes localement.
