La Cèze est une rivière française, affluent du Rhône en rive droite, qui coule principalement dans les départements de la Lozère et du Gard, en région Occitanie. Elle longe également sur environ un kilomètre le département de l'Ardèche, en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
Son nom, en occitan Cese ou Céser vient d'un hydronyme préceltique . Les graphies médiévales témoignent d'une prononciation romane proche de celle du latin cĭcĕr, 'pois chiche' .
