Le château de Tantallon est le dernier château à muraille médiévale construit en Écosse. Tantallon a été construit au milieu du 14ème siècle.
Il y a aussi une histoire de fantôme liée à ce château. En mars 2009, le professeur de psychologie Richard Wiseman a publié une photographie prise à Tantallon, qui semblait montrer une silhouette se tenant derrière des garde-fous dans une ouverture de mur. Wiseman a déclaré qu'aucun guide en costume n'était présent à Tantallon, et que trois experts en photographie ont confirmé que l'image n'avait pas été manipulée. Une seconde photo, prise 30 ans plus tôt, montrant une figure différente dans un endroit similaire, a été publiée dans The Scotsman quelques jours plus tard.
