Les Dolomites sont connues pour leurs pics verticaux en dolomie d'une blancheur parfois presque éclatante. L'itinéraire traverse trois provinces italiennes (Südtirol, Trentino et Belluno) où trois langues sont parlées (italien, allemand et ladin).
