Cividale del Friuli est une commune de la province d'Udine dans la région autonome du Frioul-Vénétie Julienne en Italie. Fondée à l'époque romaine par Jules César sous le nom de Forum Iulii, dont toute la région tire alors son nom, elle devient la capitale du duché lombard du Frioul, de la Marche frioulane et capitale temporelle du patriarcat d'Aquilée .
