Métaponte ou Metapontion ou Metapontum, en grec ancien Μεταπόντιον, aujourd'hui Metaponto / Bernalda, dans la province de Matera, en Basilicate, est une ancienne cité grecque du sud de l’Italie antique, aux confins orientaux du golfe de Tarente. C'est l'une des plus importantes colonies grecques de la Grande Grèce, fondée vers la fin du VIIIe siècle av. J.-C.
