La Basilique San Domenico est la plus importante église de Sienne en Toscane. Elle se situe Via Camporegio et domine le vallon de Fontebranda, quartier de naissance et de la famille de sainte Catherine.
L'église fut élevée initialement entre 1226 et 1265 en brique ; au cours du Trecento le complexe fut agrandi dans les formes gothiques dont les seules visibles aujourd'hui sont celles qui ont résisté aux incendies , aux occupations militaires et au tremblement de terre de 1798.
