Le détroit d'Irbe est un détroit qui forme la sortie principale vers la mer Baltique depuis le golfe de Riga, c'est-à-dire entre la péninsule de Sõrve formant l'extrémité sud de l'île de Saaremaa en Estonie et la péninsule de Kurzeme en Lettonie.
De nombreuses mines sous-marines de la Première Guerre mondiale et de la Seconde Guerre mondiale se trouvent encore dans le détroit.
