Le pont levant de Boskoop à Boskoop fait partie d'un jeu de trois ponts levants, dont les deux autres se trouvent à Alphen aan den Rijn et Waddinxveen. Les ponts levants assurent une connexion routière sur la Gouwe. Le pont levant de Boskoop date de 1936.
En raison de l'emplacement très central du pont levant de Boskoop, il occupe une place importante dans le paysage urbain du centre du village de Boskoop. Au début des années 1990, lors d'une rénovation du pont levant, des mesures ont été prises pour améliorer considérablement la sécurité des cyclistes en réalisant une piste cyclable séparée sur le côté du pont. Le pont provoque régulièrement des embouteillages pour la circulation routière.
Le pont est un monument national.
