La Biesboschsluis est une écluse avec des portes de vanne entre la Nieuwe Merwede au kilomètre 962,3 et le Steurgat. L'écluse est située dans la commune d'Altena. La voie navigable est de classe CEMT I. L'écluse mesure 61,95 m de long, et la largeur est de 7 m. À côté des portes intérieures se trouve un pont-levis. Hauteur en position fermée NAP +4,82 m. La profondeur minimale au seuil est de NAP -3,20 m de chaque côté. Le passage est autorisé jusqu'à 55,4 m de long, avec une autorisation jusqu'à 60 m.
