La région de la baie de San Francisco (San Francisco Bay Area), est une aire urbaine aux particularités géographiques variées entourant la baie de San Francisco, en Californie du Nord. Elle accueille plus de 8 millions d'habitants, ainsi que des municipalités à la taille diverse, des bases militaires, des technopoles dont la Silicon Valley, des aéroports, ainsi que des parcs nationaux, d'État ou locaux. Elle est parcourue par un réseau routier et ferroviaire très dense et s'étend sur les neuf comtés suivants: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, et Sonoma auxquels s'ajoute parfois le comté de Santa Cruz.
