L'université Cornell est une université privée américaine située principalement dans la petite ville d'Ithaca dans l’État de New York . Elle possède également un campus dans la ville de New York ainsi qu'un autre au Qatar.
Fondée en 1865, Cornell fait partie du groupe des huit prestigieuses universités de l'Ivy League et compte dans ses rangs 59 lauréats du prix Nobel, 1 médaille Fields, 18 prix Pulitzer, 5 chefs d'État, 27 médaillés olympiques, 8 astronautes de la NASA et enfin 14 milliardaires qui lui sont affiliés .
Fondée en 1865 par Ezra Cornell et Andrew Dickson White, elle a été ouverte en 1868 avec la construction de Morrill Hall qui a été le premier bâtiment construit sur le campus principal d’Ithaca.
