Nel 1949 fu acquistata la statua di Santiago Apóstol , patrono dell'omonima confraternita di pescatori che esisteva a El Puertito de Güíma
La statua è stata benedetta nella Chiesa di San Pedro Apóstol dal parroco-arciprete di Güímar, Don Matías Batista Díaz, e poi portata in processione a El Puertito . Il 25 dello stesso mese si celebrava la prima festa , che si tenne sia quell'anno che negli anni successivi in un luogo all'uopo predisposto.
Nel luglio 1952, la statua della Vergine del Carmen fu benedetta dallo stesso sacerdote.
La cappella fu costruita su un terreno donato dal medico Don Radamés Polegre Socas e da sua moglie, Doña Ángeles García Fumero e fu benedetta nel 1953 dal parroco-arciprete di Güímar, Don Matías Batista Díaz. L’orologio fu acquistato nel 1956 e l’ immagine del Crocifisso nel 1957. Nel 1966 fu fondata la parrocchia di Santiago Apóstol…
