Avete riscaldato i polpacci? Gli scarponcini da trekking sono pronti? Allora si parte. E alla grande: attraverso la riserva naturale del Wilder Kaiser, dove il paesaggio colpisce per la sua bellezza variegata. Le regioni delle malghe distendono dolci tappeti verdi, dal gruppo del Wilder Kaiser salutano le cime maestose come la Maukspitze, l'Ackerlspitze, la Regalpspitze e la Törlspitze, che ergono i loro capi al di sopra dei 2.000 metri. Il punto di partenza del tour è la locanda Gasthaus Rummlerhof, a nord-ovest del centro della località di Sankt Johann. Una volta giunti al rifugio Gaudeamushütte, al termine di questa gloriosa prima tappa, possiamo alzare i calici e inneggiare: "Gaudeamus igitur", godiamo ordunque! Oppure affrontare altri 400 metri di dislivello e risalire lungo la via ferrata del Klamml fino al rifugio Gruttenhütte.
