Stekene è un comune situato nella provincia belga delle Fiandre Orientali. Dal 1976, il comune comprende le città di Kemzeke, Klein-Sinaai e Stekene vera e propria. Include anche il villaggio di Koewacht. Nel 2021, Stekene aveva una popolazione totale di 18.863 abitanti. L'area totale è di 44,80 km². Stekene si profila come un'oasi di verde all'interno delle Fiandre industrializzate, poiché gran parte della sua area è costituita da foreste e terreni agricoli. La strada E34, che va da Anversa alla costa, attraversa il comune e ha anche un proprio accesso. Un'altra parte della comunità è la N403, che si collega a Sint-Niklaas.
