Questo edificio fu fondato nel 1900 dall'associazione filantropica di Bruxelles 'Les Marçunvins', da cui prese il suo nome originale. Questa associazione fu fondata nel 1875 e fornì supporto finanziario a giovani studenti. In seguito organizzò anche colonie estive per bambini in difficoltà. La location a Westende era quindi ideale grazie all'aria di mare sana.
Durante la Prima Guerra Mondiale, questo edificio fu raso al suolo. Nel 1930 però fu ricostruito e successivamente anche ampliato.
È un bel esempio di architettura modernista: l'edificio è alto solo due piani, ha un tetto piano ed è completamente dipinto di bianco. Angoli arrotondati e angoli acuti si alternano giocosamente.
