La brughiera e la valle del Ziepbeek è un'area Natura 2000 in Fiandre. Questa area si estende da Dilsen-Stokkem a Lanaken, parallela alla valle della Mosa. Fa parte del Parco Nazionale Hoge Kempen: 3741 ha del parco sono stati delimitati come zona speciale di protezione europea. Questa area è in realtà composta da una raccolta di riserve naturali e forestali e foreste di proprietà. Il paesaggio è dominato da ampie brughiere, circondate da fitti boschi. Nelle insenature della scarpata ripida sgorgano piccoli corsi d'acqua fiancheggiati da brughiere umide.
