ALBERO DELL'ANNO 2021
Il albero di mammut è il simbolo del precedente Collegio di San Giuseppe che oggi è diventato il Collegio di Nostra Signora di Bonlieu.
Si trova in bella mostra all'ingresso principale dell'edificio e ha visto passare migliaia di studenti diretti a scuola. Questo maestoso albero è anche lo sfondo di diverse foto di gruppo ed è rappresentato in una striscia di un autore simbolico per Gaume, Jean-Claude Servais.
Per Virton, l'albero di mammut è un albero importante perché questa specie in passato offriva alla città una vista splendida, ma oggi ne esistono solo pochi: l'albero del Parco Foncin, quello del sindaco, M. Culot e naturalmente l'albero del Collegio.
Nel sito ci sono altri alberi che meritano l'attenzione necessaria: un notevole tiglio, un'imponente faggio viola, un frutteto che è un residuo della scuola agricola e che è stato mantenuto e ringiovanito dal team pedagogico, alberi di noce e nocciolo e un giovane siepe piantata nel 2020 dagli studenti per promuovere la biodiversità intorno al Collegio.
