Il programma televisivo turistico "Vlaanderen Vakantieland" ha cercato nel 2013 la passeggiata più bella delle Fiandre. Questa passeggiata a De Blankaart era una delle nominate. Il percorso è la miscela ideale di avventura, natura e un po' di cultura. La riserva naturale De Blankaart si trova a soli 2,6 metri
sopra il livello del mare ed è una vasta pianura di prati umidi e pascoli. La pianura dell'IJzer è punteggiata di acqua, ponticelli e la relativa fauna e flora. Si consigliano gli stivali.
