L'ultima rivolta tedesca ebbe luogo nel dicembre del 1944, quando gli Alleati avanzarono nelle Ardenne belghe e furono completamente sorpresi da tre eserciti tedeschi. Questo segnò l'inizio dell'offensiva delle Ardenne o 'Battaglia delle Ardenne'. Fu un ultimo disperato tentativo della Wehrmacht tedesca di tagliare le linee alleate. La battaglia durò oltre sei settimane e costò la vita a molti da entrambe le parti.
