Il viaggio ci porta alla basilica che è riconoscibile da lontano grazie alle sue due torri alte 56 metri.
Pedaliamo verso il ponte per biciclette sopra la Schelda a Melle e seguiamo la Schelda fino al nodo 12. Un percorso tranquillo e piacevole ci porta attraverso i nodi 11, 8, 10, 73 e 99 verso la nostra destinazione. Da nodo 99 pedaliamo in direzione 30 ma giriamo a sinistra verso la basilica.
Per via dei lavori per la costruzione del nuovo ponte (La piccola Piranha) per il ritorno seguiamo la Dendermondsesteenweg (invece di attraversare subito verso il lato della Schelda) per pedalare attraverso il centro di Destelbergen verso il sentiero lungo la Schelda in direzione di Melle.
